Nest Community Shelter is actively working to reduce homelessness in La Porte County. They partner with individuals, families, companies, and nonprofits to achieve this goal. Nest provides a safe place, hot meals, clean clothes, hygiene products, and a listening ear to anyone in need. Their dedicated team helps those facing homelessness find hope and access valuable resources for a better future.

The Challenge

Nest, formerly known as Interfaith Community PADS, came to us looking for a complete brand refresh featuring their business name change, a new logo design, and a new website. Their goal is to raise awareness of their nonprofit organization, mission, and services so they can reach homeless men, women, and children in the local community to deliver emergency shelter, food, and other resources.

Branding & Logo Design

Sera Group helped Nest Community Shelter reestablish their brand featuring their new company name. We created a logo that encapsulated a new color palette and modern styling to increase brand recognition. The new logo pairs with Nest’s modern branding to visually narrate an impactful story. The bird taking flight from the nest is a metaphor for individuals who’ve received support at the community shelter and are now ready to navigate the world independently.

Web Design

The website redesign reestablishes its online presence featuring the new company name. Incorporating Nest’s new logo and branding, it features clear call-to-actions and personalized images. Consistency throughout the site not only enhances engagement but also builds trust among visitors.

Improved Site Structure & Navigation

We improved the site navigation and structure by implementing a user-friendly menu and a drop-down bars for the ‘About’ and ‘Get Involved’ sections. Searching is made easy with the menu as it clearly lists out the most popular topics that someone would likely search for, i.e. their history, different ways to donate or volunteer, and blog posts featuring recent news. With these improvements, the site flow will help lead visitors to their destinations more quickly.

Mobile Responsive Design

Nest Community Shelter shares a great mission to help better the La Porte County community but continuously making efforts to lower homelessness and help those in need. We wanted to capture the ways they give back through their website. As a result, we optimized images for faster load times, made navigation simple for improved user experience, and made the site accessible across all device screen sizes to give customers a convenient mobile experience when using the Nest website.

Search Engine Optimization

Through expertise, Sera Group ensured the brand’s accessibility across all devices and implemented SEO strategies. These strategies were created by utilizing keyword research and investigating search engine result pages. In turn, we generated more organic traffic to the Nest Community Shelter’s website, so visitors can find what they are looking for seamlessly.
